Making and using Cannabis Suppositories

Pre-requisite: Cannabis Therapy Consultant Program or equivalent experience.

In practice and in research we have discovered many advantages of rectal and vaginal applications of cannabis therapy. Cannabis suppositories are ideal for patients with impaired oral ingestion or unconsciousness. They are great for targeting areas in the colon, rectum or reproductive areas. The “back door” method of application activates faster and more medicine reaches the blood stream with a much more subtle effect. And best of all, suppositories are much less psychoactive that oral medicines, allowing for higher doses to be administered without the need to slowly build up a tolerance to the psychoactive properties of THC.

This is a hands on class where students practice making their own herbal suppositories and learn guidelines for dosages and methods for insertion.
